A fellow photographer friend of mine shot this image of her daughter. I saw it and said I have to paint it!! I just loved the simplicity and expression. I also played around with a black and white charcoal/pastel style that I don’t normally do, so I’d love to hear what you think.

In my journey of this thing called life I have come in contact with some amazing and talented people. It is a privilege to paint images for such people. This particular studio designed and photographed an exclusive promotion around my talent and techniques! That is such a compliment. I hope blog world enjoys these as much as I enjoyed painting them.

This is exactly the kind of image I love to paint! I was so excited to see it as the Fix-it-Friday image over at I Heart Faces. I’d love to hear what you think. And keep visiting my blog, this image has started me thinking up a brilliant idea I have!!!

It’s “Fix-It Friday” over at I Heart Faces! That means everyone edits the same photo, and then we get to learn new editing tips and tricks from each other. This week’s photo comes from Rachel Durik of Savor Photography. This is the first time I have participated in this! So I’d love to hear everyones feedback.

I was commissioned to do these portraits by one of my graphic design clients — Yes, I do that too! During our session preparation he explained to me he had a 21-year-old daughter with special needs, she is not autistic but she is on the spectrum. He went on to say they have few, if any family pictures let alone good ones and she could prove to be a challenge. All sessions have their unique challenges, but I’m a problem solver and I was up for the challenge.

Happy New Year! Hoping all your wishes and dreams come true in 2011! Bippity Boppity Boo it’s looking like a fairytale for this young lady and this clients studio. I look forward to painting more from this magical set in the coming month.

This always seems to be the time of year I find myself scrambling to get my to my personal images edited or painted. I hadn’t even looked at the SOOC images until this evening for the shot below. I LOVE this shot! I LOVE the painting. I’m so into watercolor right now, which has always been my nemesis (especially in real-medium). But I think I’m finding my style and I like it!
Below is the edited photograph, which I love as well.
