I was commissioned to do these portraits by one of my graphic design clients — Yes, I do that too! During our session preparation he explained to me he had a 21-year-old daughter with special needs, she is not autistic but she is on the spectrum. He went on to say they have few, if any family pictures let alone good ones and she could prove to be a challenge. All sessions have their unique challenges, but I’m a problem solver and I was up for the challenge.

This always seems to be the time of year I find myself scrambling to get my to my personal images edited or painted. I hadn’t even looked at the SOOC images until this evening for the shot below. I LOVE this shot! I LOVE the painting. I’m so into watercolor right now, which has always been my nemesis (especially in real-medium). But I think I’m finding my style and I like it! Below is the edited photograph, which I love as well.
